eSquared Eran and DJ Dums in the House at Pizzetta on Tuesdays

babbleBlogrolldurbaneSquaredinterestingMusicpress

DSC04063Everyone in Durban knows the Deadly DJ Dums who hits the decks regularly at all the Mr White parties, works closely with Coco Loco, Resident DJ at BBB : Bean Bag Bohemia in Durban.

Lately DJ Dums (like DOOMSDOOMS in DA HOUSE!) has been playing at Ladies Night at Pizzetta in Davenport Rd – the infamous gourmet pizza eatery and killer cocktail venue.

Eran (that’s me!) – on the other hand – has been mates with DJ Dums for ages and an avid fan. One of my major passions is playing the flute – mostly wooden ones such as Nepalese Flutes and the Japanese Shakuhachi. Dums heard me playing at eSquared Durban and loved the groove so much that he asked me to collaborate with him at Pizzetta on Tuesdays

Dolph Lundgren is He-Man

babbleopinion

he-manHey everybody.

Man, you gotta love it when the 4 basic TV channels skimp on the more expensive recent movies and instead throw you “old school” movies of our past glory…..well if u wanna call it glory, probably more like cinematic oblivion. Much to my delight, Masters of the Universe was screened just a few days ago, damn that movie takes me back to the good old days, when I was always caked in mud, thought “the president” was actually the G.I. Joes boss and when bugs tasted like caviar….ahhh u have to love innocence.

For those of you who dont know He-Man (shame on you), it was originally a Mattel toy line and after that a comic book series. In 1983, Masters of the Universe became a TV cartoon, which was for many of us the cartoon that defined our youth. He-Man (AKA: Prince Adam) is obviously the hero, when he holds up his magic sword and says,” I HAVE THE POWER or BY THE POWER OF GRAYSKULL“(Shelle likes to say, “by the power of Graceland“), he becomes the strongest man in the universe and at the same time gets a dodgy magical makeover that transforms his clothing into a furry speedo loincloth (probably from Tivoli)…very scarring for young kids *sobsob*

South African Idols is BACK

interesting

Whose been watching Idols 4 in South Africa? Can’t believe we’re now having the FOURTH season of South African idols!

I have to admit that there are now getting too many Idols series for me to remember the top 10 idols contestants and the overall idols winners and other important information.

I remember Heinz Winkler winning Idols 2 seasons back, and remember the face of the girl that won Idols 3, although I can’t remember her name.
