Members Special on Ronin tshirts

roninphoenixHiya everybody

This week we are running a ultra cool special on our super-duper popular Japanese Ronin tshirts. Everybody goes crazy for these very well printed tshirts, with their truly Asian flavor of koi fish, cranes and tigers.

One things for sure, not many people around South Africa have found out about these slick Ronin designs, so if you (like me) hate being dressed the same way as a million other people, then these are the tshirts for you.

To celebrate these tshirts we are offering members (and only members) a MaSsIve 20% off all our Ronin gear. So pull in and check out these “asialicious” designs and see whats got everybody talking.

Catch you all later.

Tiesto Cape Town Party

tiestoHi there one and all.

Do you know any good trance music? Tiesto has made such a huge name for himself over the years, that his name has become a generic answer to this question. He already has a handful of “now classic” tracks to his name like Adagio for strings, Forever today and Lethal industry…granted there will be some of you who don’t recognize them, but I bet if you heard them you would know them instantly, such is his very unique sound and style.

Last weekend saw the arrival of Tiesto to Cape Town, on his country wide tour of South Africa. He played at @mosphere on Friday night and the place was packed, the dance floor was like a can full of very fat sardined, perhaps a bit too crammed for my liking, because there was no space to dance. He played some of his new stuff as well as a bit of the older material, which had everybody going crazy (in a good way).

Overall it was a good night, although the space was a issue and also he started his set quite late (1:00am), this after the ticket said to be there at nine, sheeesh. listen i know its important to showcase other DJ’s before Tiesto does his set, but get on the freaking stage man, do what you came to do…oh the suspense. Who does he think he is Metallica. :D

Lucky Dube killed in hijacking

luckydubeGreetings everybody.

I’m sure that many of you have heard the tragic news about the famous local Reggae star Lucky Dube. Yesterday evening he was killed by three as yet unknown hijackers, as he was dropping off his son in Rosettenville, a Johannesburg suburb. Its said that his daughter witnessed the whole scene unfold before her very eyes. The gunmen that shot Mr. Dube are as yet still running around free.

It is such sad news to hear about a legend like Lucky Dube, a man that brought peace through his music, who lived a loving life striving for freedom, meeting such a terrible end. Mr. Dube’s music has inspired generations of South Africans, even throughout the apartheid era, he was one of the voices of freedom. Lucky Dube will not only be missed here in South Africa but all across the globe.

Lucky Dube, who I think still had so much to give through his music, has passed away at the young age of 43. His music career lasted more than 25 years and he won numerous awards. He was also the first South African artist to be signed by the famous American label Motown. Lucky Dube’s music has also helped enhance important social messages, such as his songs about AIDS and common equality.

Lucky Dube is a legend and we must not forget it. We here at eSquared hope that everybody will go about there weekend with a mellow, cool and motivated attitude in respect for “The man“.
