World Cup Soccer is REALLY HAPPENING

Well, with South Africa now the World Cup Rugby champs - go South Africa! that was an amazing win in Paris a few weeks ago - it’s time to seriously start realising that South Africa is going to be hosting the World Cup Soccer tournament in 2010.

Wow! The Soccer World Cup is going to be in South Africa in just 2 years time.

Everywhere you look in South Africa at the moment, you see signs of frantic development to get ready for the soccer world cup.

2010 isn’t that far away - it sounds like a lifetime away, but it’s actually just a few hundred days. When I was at the Cape Town International airport last week they have a counter which is counting down the number of days till the World Cup Soccer competition begins.

And in Green Point which is really close to the eSquared shop in Sea Point, the entire stadium has been torn down, and they are busy developing a new stadium which is going to be used for the Cape Town matches. I think there are some other stadiums which are also being built, but this one in Green Point is crazy!

Thousands of workers and the cranes sticking up look like an alien marathon!

In Jhb they are building a Gautrain! What on earth is a Gautrain you ask? Well, it’s a new train line they are building between Joburg and Pretoria. What a massive project. When I was in a cab in JHB 2 weeks ago, the cab driver couldn’t stop talking about how they are working on the Gautrain project 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We were driving past one of the stations at about 10 at night, and it looked like a busy Monday morning - EVERYONE was WORKING!

So although it’s 2 years away till the World Cup Soccer, the eSquared crew are starting to get excited about the fact that very soon, the entire world will be watching South Africa on TV and thousands of visitors will be arriving in South Africa to watch the Soccer games live.

It’s time to get KICKING! Soccer time is almost here!!!
