South Africa has gone Facebook crazy. When you’re sitting at a formal dinner party where everyone of the stuffy guests is sitting with their finest Armani suits and the topic of conversation is the exact same as a res party where the guys are downing the beers from devices stuck to their head, then you know…
Facebook has gone BIG.
The fascinating thing is that facebook is only about 3 years old, and in South Africa people have only really been getting into facebook from the beginning of this year.
Facebook was set up by a 20 something Harvard guy (who is now no longer a Harvard guy as Facebook is now worth billions and he has Harvard type guys begging him for jobs) called Mark Zuckerburg, who decided it would be fun to let the guys at Harvard mingle…
Hermit and Demon is a styling new shirt from Ronin that I’m crazy for. This design however is probably more for those who are Japan crazy (like me). I’ve seen a few people pull funny faces at it since I put it out, I guess the little demon hanging from his masters belt is the thing that puts people off.
While others cringe, I know plenty of people that would go mental for this design. I’m really into old school fantasy, either Japanese, or good old western style classic fantasy (King Arthur and his knights). Japanese fantasy opened a whole new world to me and its grown on me in a huuuge way.
Crazy hermitswandering the country side defeating bandits. Evil hermits causing general havoc for peasants (usually cackling as they do). These are the norm for Japanese fantasy. This design can be seen in either of these two alignments. Just because he has a oni (demon in Japanese) hanging from his belt, doesn’t mean the hermit is evil. Just how “good”wizards in Western fantasy have familiars, which are creatures summoned to do their masters bidding, so too do Easternhermits or monks employ the services of little summoned creatures.
So to me this shirt can be seen in a negative light or a positive one, however I’m the kinda dude that likes to see the glass as half full, rather than half empty. I’m sure you guys have your opinions on this kind of design, so tell me, what you think?

I was in Cape Town last week visiting the eSquared Seapoint crew and my good budCraig Shackleton – AKA Digital Lama invited Eric and I to come chill with him at Ignite on Camps Bay last Sunday night.
Digital Lama is considered one of the top VJs (Video DJs) around these days and a phenomenal DJ as well. What that man and our buddy Wayne - who he always works with – can do with visuals is AWESOME! When they are working with their state-of –the-art equipment it seriously looks like an excerpt from the bridge of the Star Trek USS Enterprise. Crazy stuff!
