in anime manga and interesting.

Blame is a manga that hurts.
This pretty much sums up what this manga is all about.
You get different kinds of manga for different kinds of readers, some people like to have a laugh or get all weepy with relationship related manga. Blame falls under the group that caters for older teens to adults, usually with more heavy, dark or serious subject matter, the Japanese call it “seinen”.
Blame is the story of Killy an enigmatic character who travels through a vast futuristic city in search of pure human genes that can access the “net”.
The world he travels through is hard to describe, it actually can’t really be described as a city, because the sheer size of the structures is just beyond any mega-super-metropolis imaginable…it’s more accurately a “landscape of tech”.
As the reader you never know if it’s far in the future on Earth, another planet or a structure floating in space.
Killy seems like a normal human at first, but in reality he’s a hardcore unstoppable techno organic being…and when I say he can take a hit I mean it, I’ve seen him fall hundreds of floors through flaming debris and leave a small crater where he crashes and then get up and walk away.
He gets thrown and blasted through walls by massive killing
machines, only to fly back at them and teach them more than just a small lesson. You see, Killy has a weapon that defies comprehension, it’s called a graviton emitter...it looks exactly like a normal handgun, but blasts through anything over a distance of say…oooh about 70 kilometres….yikes now that’s a weapon.
This manga is not for wimps or people afraid of a little violence…this is one for people with a huge imagination and interest in sci-fi to match, it’s not a simple comic, it has brains and a penchant for making you gasp in absolute horror…my kinda manga.

Morning all, well based on the topic of yesterdays blog, I have decided to clear up this mystery surrounding Khabala and throw in some examples of how low society will go to make a quick buck.
The majority of us out there are all pretty open-minded, and that it takes a lot to push our buttons. But everybody has a breaking point, and this is mine. For me, it’s the use of religion as fashion. Seeing middle Class mall rats wearing Khabala bracelets for the simple reason they’ve seen Madonna wear them or a blinged up crucifix that 50 cent is sporting just burns me.
So what exactly is Khabala? Here is the best breakdown I could get from Wikipedia ‘Khabala is an aspect of Jewish mysticism. It consists of a large body of speculation on the nature of divinity, the creation, the origin and fate of the soul, and the role of human beings. It consists also of meditative, devotional, mystical and magical practices which were taught only to a select few and for this reason Khabala is regarded as an esoteric offshoot of Judaism.” Ooooh, so it’s not a new designer label or fashion fad. Interesting.
There is now a Khabala energy drink that has been styled on the Red Bull model. Reading through the drinks website makes you cringe. How can people take religion to such a low? A spokesperson for the drink said “We are going after the Red Bull market but Khabala Energy Drink tastes better.” Come on, this makes me want to puke.
Those of you out there that wear the red khabala bracelet without having the slightest clue as to the meaning should recognise that Khabala was and is a part of Judaism, and an important part of the history of Jewish people, and respect the beliefs which not only gave rise to Khabala, but which are still an essential part of Jewish faith.
So as I said yesterday people, be yourself and don’t imitate these so called ‘role models’ of ours.

Hail everybody.
What would the world be without a bit of retro style? Yep in this world it seems the practice of recycling past fads and fashions on a period loop is common place. Just when you think it’s safe to come out, some famous n00b designer decides that 80’s shoulder pads are the coolest thing out…are they NUTS. Luckily not all things from the past are sucky. I’ve always enjoyed the retro music scene and have said as much in past posts.
Here’s a very styling design from the hardcore awesome (as always) local design team Fiftees: Cassette.
Cassette is a funky design that not only has the whole retro vibe, but also has a roughened and worn print that adds to an old school feel, or at least the feeling that you just pulled it out your old memorabilia box hehe.
It seems the music design theme has been doing very well lately, come to mention it, music related shirts are always a firm favourite and we all love to tote our favourite bands on our shirts…we go forth as crusader of the music that we love. While some young girl will wear her Jennifer Lopez shirt, I go out with my Pixies T….we all need to support our idols in some way.
Wearing a retro design like Cassette is good way for the older dudes to show their allegiance of the era they grew up in. I myself was a child of the 80’s and I’ve had a great many of my cassettes eaten by possessed tape-players…one of the saddest things that can happen to a kid of my generation lol.
So tell me is this design spot on, or is it something that you would like to keep buried deep in the past…have u succumbed to the CD?
