No it’s not the perpetually empty stomached Oliver twist, it’s actually a 140kg inmate in a US correctional facility on a murder conviction.
According to Broderick Lloyd Laswell, who weighed in at a hefty 180kg when he was incarcerated last September, the prison staff don’t give them nearly enough food and that they are starving to death.
It sounds like Mr. Laswell has in fact gone away to a health hydro instead of prison.
Isn’t that what prison is supposed to do to you, make you hard and tough?
Well let’s face it, prison is not a summer camp where you sit around a fire (unless it’s in a dustbin during a riot) eating marshmallows and cake, it’s a place where you go to “reflect” on your crimes and hopefully rehabilitate and become a better human than when you walked in.
I doubt that Mr. Laswell will ever be released from his jail term but if he does he could release a Jail House Diet Video and be a very rich man.
It seems not only is he not getting enough food but he wants more hot meals, the prison of which he is a resident is supposedly famous for its cold food delights.
Dude you are a murderer, you are lucky you aren’t being tortured in some dungeon from the Dark Ages. Why should the world waste good “hot” meals on you when that extra food can go to starving children across the globe…is it because of your rights? I don’t think that your rights should play to heavily into the equation as you have already denied somebody their most basic right…life.
Jail Captain Hunter Petray claimed that the meals, “average 3000 calories a day” which is higher than your standard Western intake of calories which is around 2000-3000.
Mr. Laswell has already filed two law suits against the prison (not enough chow and lack of “Hot” chow) and undoubtedly will file more during his stay.
Perhaps the prison standard soap will not meet his standards next, maybe they will have to change it from Protex to Lux.
Can you imagine a law suit like this in South Africa? It would be an absolute joke…only in America.
Oh and just so you know Laswell was arrested along with another man for brutally stabbing a man and then set his house on fire….niiice one dude, please complain about the cold food a little more, can you see how much we care??

lack of hot food in prison? only in America,this guy should try an over night stay in Westville or Parlsmoor prisons and then we could hear what he thinks about it
