Emo’s…what are they?
Emo’s.Are they human? Do they breathe? Do they smile? The answer to all three is no.
This whole emo craze has taken over. Kids who used to be happy jungle gym climbing youngsters are now starting a revolution to make the whole world sad and emotional for no reason at all.
To start off, let me make it as clear as possible and state that I am not one of them and I will never ever be an emo. These people make me angry and I am not an angry person. Most of these emo’s come from good families and are just being emotional for no reason other than trying to attract attention. If my kid ever went emo, boy or girl, I would thrash all the emo out of them and child line would understand why I did it.
Emo’s are normally teenagers who have no reason to be sad but want to be depressed and hate the world. They continuously go on about how dark and unhappy their lives are. If they were really unhappy they would act on these feelings and get on with things. However, they don’t because all they are looking for is attention which is ridiculous.
Now, their appearance is another story. They normally have badly dyed black hair that has a cheap touch of ginger in it. Yes, I am being serious. It covers their eyes and is normally straightened. Extreme emo’s dye their hair every time they leave the house and because of this they have black nails. Now, imagine seeing your kid like this. It must be soul destroying. I would not wish this on my biggest enemy.
They wear tight, skinny jeans with either a hoodie or their favourite band t-shirt. They love having piercings. It must be cool in the emo world to have these piercings as it could reflect all the pain that they go through. Eyeliner is also a big hit with this lot and word from our undercover emo brother has it that red eyeliner is the must have accessory for this emo season.
Now that you know what an emo looks like don’t be surprised if your mom, brother or granny is one of them. They are growing in numbers and must be stopped.
As a big music fan, this one upsets me the most. That damn music they listen to is terrible, shocking in fact. Have you ever gone out and bought a song about how bad life is or wanting to commit suicide? You probably answered no. This is emo music. Man, I honestly can’t stand these kids
.Then we come to our last topic of emo’s probably the worst yet, Emo boys kissing one another, I have no Idea why they do this. They claim they aren’t gay, but they do it anyway. I think it has something to do with sensitivity.
Okay, so that’s about it. I forgot to add that these emotional kids tend to cry a lot and are super sensitive. So if you see one try not to crack them but rather greet them and ruin their week. It works, just try.
It’s time to end this fad; I have given them way too much publicity already.

Yep I’m with you there Mark dude, emos are a pale shadow of what they originally were all those years ago.
The way emos dress today, all in black with nail polish and the “hair thing”, is completely diff to the original emo who listened to Weezer and looked for like a youthful (and cool) Woody Allen.
These little idiots of today are an evolved cross between true emos and a bit of goth.
Id love to know why they think their lives are so hard, they should gather up all these little posers and fly them to the Congo to live out their days…that would give them something to be sad about.
The real emos never leave their houses and never buy new clothes staying the hell away from commercial hell as much as possible.

Man, you forgot about their fringes. An emo kid is not complete without the straightened, side-pathed fringe covering a minimum of one eye. It’s especially popular with the male emos. Just look at the guy in your photo. prime example. peace.

The word emo is too widespread. I think of emo as funky hair and really funky clothes to match. There is nothing wrong with this, and yes of course im happy with this, not sad. What you are talking about is definately a goth. I listen to hip hop and rock and the usual charts etc. Infact im black and have had my hair relaxed sometimes to be able to accomplish the sexy black and red hairstyle! But yea i know where the editor is coming from, just try not to get goths and emos mixed up.

The sad of it all is, there’s a lot of ‘wannabee’ emos who makes their childhood sound worst than it really is/was. “Then they decide to commit suicide because nobody loves them, everybody hates them - BUT, they think if they die, they will go straight to heaven, because God loves them”. Yes God do love His creation, but nowhere in the Bible stands you will go to heaven if you commit suicide. In my eyes it’s not the “brave” who commits suicide, because you need to be brave in the world we’re living in.

yo people…. i as an emo fynk u are totally sterio typing us… maybe in the past it was kids that were depro all the tym. im not depro all the tym, in fact im usually very happy… emo has become more of a style than depro ppl. i hav black dyed hair that is done at the hairdresser nd no other emo i no dye their hair everyday… yeah i straighen my hair every weekend but thats what me nd my besty do for fun… skinny jeans and skirts are the main items of my closet, n u no wats funny? its not all black! i hav never seen an emo wear red eyeliner, but let me put it this way, its thats a hole weekend to get my eyeliner of completely… emo dude are the sexiest things alive and you people suck for hating them… u people shud not judge us cuz we dont have a problem wid you. yeah so iv cut myself but not because im craving attention. nd i no its prob a jock who wrote this cuz its a load of bull!! emo music is more than u ppl will understand cuz u dont think the way we do. but u got one thing right we are sencitive but not in a pansy way.

I’m so sick of people stereotyping emo’s. You get attention whores everywhere in every subculture. I’m studying fashion and one of my best friends is a scene emo. He does it so well. Yeah he’s more sensitive than other males, but it’s real nice. He’s an amazing friend and he’s not the only one out there.
The thing about emo is that it cannot be stereotyped.
For your info (to the writer) emo (of course short for emotional) means finding yourself emotionally and learn how to express who you truly are, and not be afraid to be yourself.
Yes you get the cut-myself attention seekers but that’s not emo.
Emo is a grey area, it cannot be defined, cuz what is horrible for some is great for others.
I think you have some nerve for judging them, and this is the worst written article I’ve ever read. Don’t worry about the emo’s, rather worry about the preppy jocks and barbie dolls that are ruling the teenage society with peer pressure and if-you’re-not-in-you’re-out attitudes. They are destroyers of the human soul.
Next time get to know some emo’s for real before judging them.

Most bands that get called emo, don’t want to be associated with the term. A lot of “emo” music use lots of metaphors like “I miss you, it hurts so much I feel like dying” - they’re not saying they want to die it’s just a metaphor to explain how much it hurts without that person. I haven’t heard any band that people call emo that sings about suicide and endorse it. Ever heard of “To Write Love on Her Arms?” It’s an organization that helps people that are struggling with depression and suicide, etc… most “emo bands” support it - I’m talking bands like Hawthorne Heights, Underoath and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus these bands are called emo all the time. Why would an “emo band” endorse suicide through their lyrics and then support a charity that is anti-suicide. Have you ever heard of any “emo bands” cutting themselves or commiting suicide? No.

Actually, the way ‘emo’ people dress is called scene. Plenty people are emo without actaully dressing in the scene fashion… This is a pretty subjective article anyway and most of it is rubbish. Emo rules!

yo! ftw! My hair is black and long. My nails are black too. I have 20 piercings and love screamo music. Do i count as an emo now? I’m not saying i am. lol. it doesn’t really matter how much you hate them. They won’t go away! So the best thing you can do is accept them for who they are. It’s just logic that if you stop hating them, they won’t hate you. I think emo kids rock! ^^, it’s just a really awesome culture and i love it. I read this post and actually came across it looking for emo clothes. Like the checked skinny jeans or the checked skirts. Now I am 22 years old. So tell me am I emo then? So all the anti-emo’s that have posted here are telling me that all of you played on a jungle gym till they were 20? That none of you went through different phases when you were younger? Skater boy with your pants so slow your crack showed? Or the stoner? The surfer? the punk? The Goth? Well I fail to believe that! Seriously I am not pro or anti emo I just say do what the hell ever…
And if a kid is depressed or cutting well there is obviously no on to listen to them or bothers to hear them!
Thats my opinion, take it, leave it or hate it
