It’s the weekend and for some of us that means one thing…party time.
As most of you know I am a huge Goldfish fan and this weekend is going to start off with a massive kabang for me as the fishies are playing in Durbs tonight. The boys have just returned from their hugely successful tour of the US where they played alongside the likes of Macy Gray, Frankie Knuckles and Axwell. Now they are back to kick off their South African tour of their new album Perceptions of Pacha which can be heard blazing around all the hottest night spots in the country.
This is one of their last shows in Durban before they jet across to Ibiza to take up their residency at Super Club Pacha for the European summer, where they will be headlining shows with Basement Jaxx, Faithless and the Swedish House Mafia. This just shows how big the fishies have become.The event is hosted by Society on Florida Rd but…the boys won’t be playing there! There is a secret venue and guests will be shuttled off to see the guys in action. Pretty cool if you ask me! You can grab tickets from Society at R80 pre booked or R100 at the door. The vibe kicks off at 9pm.
Green for Go is a festival going down in Ifafa on the North Coast this weekend. Deejays Coco Loco, Sweat-X from Cape Town, Spit Monkey and One Track Mike are some of the guys who will be getting the crowd jumping. The Festival runs from the 14-15 June. There will be a full range of facilities including electrical outlets at camp sites and the main stage will be covered in the event of bad weather. Tickets are R160 or R120 for a day pass.
As the long weekend draws to a close, those late comrades entrants out there have a chance to show your stamina as Tilt hosts Superfunk on Sunday. A mix of Funky house, Hip Hop and RnB will hopefully propel you to the finish line. The Deejay line-up includes the mix master of all things funky, Funky G, Matt OD and Ron. Both upstairs and downstairs will be open.
So it looks like this weekend will be a true test of stamina for all you party peeps out there. I look forward to seeing most of you out on the jol.
