I most defnitely agree with you dude.I've always despised the way some rich/wealthy people splurge hectic tonnes of money on baby birthdays and other stuff that's unneccessary. It's not because i don't have the money but if i did,i wouldn't splurge on a day the kid's not gonna remember, except from photo shoots etc.I mean g'z!If they don't know what to do with the money, why not go ask the kid's at some orphanage,or disabled people at some home or something. But hey,at least they make me feel better about myself, reminding me not of how much money i don't have but how sane and selfless i am.But hey! That's the way the cookie crumbles. It's thhe way of the world.

Can i make a comment on this TOP BIlling CHRISTENING that was showcased last night - i rightfully do so because the lady you are referring to here is my sister and that baby is my niece.
The event was opulent and there is no doubt that it had class but i refuse that you start judging the values of the mother of the baby. Some poeple were not as priviledges when they were growing up and hence they would go out of their way to ensure that their babies have the best things in life as was the case with baby Nzulu. The mother is a very principled, young and first time mom who is overwhelmed to have been given a chance by God to bring this beautiful perfect gift to the world and whishes that her baby can have a good start in life... Im not justifying but rather asking that before you judge practise a bit of empathy.

Thanks for the comment Siza.
As far as opulence and class go there is no doubt that the event was a success...that is by no means what I have an issue with, hats off to the execution of the party.
However, you must realize what the event looked like to an outside party who has no idea what your sister is like in real life.
It was beyond extreme and in all honesty if the mother had such a difficult upbringing I would think that she would want the child to also learn from her hardships and become strong and independent.
Its obvious that the mother has made it in life, good for her, but this sets a heavy precedent for little Nzulu and i hope she grows up in the "right way"...instead of just being swamped with wealth and in effect, not learning about life for herself.
As for empathy, perhaps I was in short supply today, but after watching last night I really needed to say something.
Thanks once again Siza for the more personal insight into the situation.

i was watching that show and i'm telling all i did was laugh. Siza my sister where is the baby's father when all of this was happening? i think your sister is living her dream through her daughter. all of the things she did that day were supposed to be done on her wedding day. i think she's lonely and she needs to get a life.
