Hi there one and all.
Today I thought my life was in danger, a bandit appeared in the Sea Point store and he was armed….well armed with a paint brush that is.
To my relief the bandit was none other than David who had come prepared to take on the wall outside of the store in preparation for his awesome forthcoming mural.
So far things are looking pretty good, David needed to get a nice white undercoat going in order to make himself a “ready to go” 3 x 5.5 metre canvas (that’s pretty big hey).
Well the White layer has just been completed so David has started sketching the first of the designs for the bottom of the wall, while the very beautiful Marina sorts out the stencil that we will be using for the logo itself.
This mural is going to be awesome.
We are STILL waiting for the building next door to give us confirmation for us to get going on the main design for the mural…we can’t just start on their wall because we will get in trouble LOL (its technically theirs)…and we don’t want that.
Fingers crossed they will come to the party sooner rather than later. However we decided we would just start with the rest of the wall and at least have a sign up telling people who the heck we are, aesthetic mural design is secondry.
Poor David is working like a Trojan out there today in the unpredictable Cape Town weather, which is hot, cold, hot, cold every 5 minutes.
Not only has David painted the entire wall white, but he also seems to have even managed to paint himself from head to toe as well hehe…I guess he should have used overalls, next time I guess…woopsie.
It really is so awesome to be finally underway, the Springleap store gets a new coat of paint and a huge boost to its visibility and good looks….nice one David for the mural and to Marina for her stencil magic.
Stay tuned for more on our new store facelift throughout the week.
Have a great one all u wonderful people.
Duncs.

i see a chicken burger combo in the background. Anyone who visits the store should pop into City Cafe to try a burger. and say hi to Harold.
VERY excited the mural is going up. Take a pic every 5 mins Duncan and blog it so us guys who aren’t at the shop can watch the progress.
Nice one David!!! (I feel like using the expression “better than watching paint dry” somewhere but just couldn’t fit it in)
LOL, you should of asked me for my bright orange overalls
I am a farm girl, every self respecting farm girl has overalls
Josie I just cant seem to think of you as a farm girl…milking cows and what not LOL.
“Watching paint dry”, nice one E.
Dont worry will take loads of snaps of the endeavor.
