Helenzille - Coolzila!

Karmapa Lama

Karmapa Lama


Greetings and salutations my friends.

Well it has been a very long time since I last wrote a blog that was even slightly political, I suppose I ventured away from these kinds of posts in order to focus more on design, which let’s face it, is what we are all about.
However this week there has been a spate of blogs involving political figures, so I thought I’d pull one out the hat just for old time sake.
At the moment I have been very interested with the developments of the most recent Karmapa Lama, who holds the 3rd highest position of the Lama’s, after the most important which of course we all know as the Dalai Lama.

The Karmapa Lama isn’t exactly your typical lama who we usually envisage as really old men, who move slowly and say profound things whenever they speak…well not that the Karmapa Lama doesn’t say profound things.
The karmapa lama is very young, 23 years old in fact and he is perhaps the single greatest hope for Tibet to resolve past hatred with China.
It has been 9 years since the Karmapa Lama escaped Tibet, in a rather adventurous way I believe, for the safety of India, which is well known as a haven for Tibetans on the run.
