“Does fashion continue to get inspiration from the art world? If not, what influences fashion — street wear? TV and movies? Technology?-FASHION AND ART
Saw this and could think of nothing else until I had something to say about it, I don’t think that fashion gets much inspiration from the art world at the moment, think about it when was the last time you saw the ‘Mona Lisa’ or ‘The Last Supper’ on a tee? Not saying this is the be all and all of art, far from it. But classics?
Technology I feel is a sticky subject, electronic media in general has created a conglomeration of diverse sub cultures which together influences everyone whether they like it or not. Technology I know for a fact has made buying t-shirts online much easier. J
I feel that most of our inspiring designs and ideas come from mass media, the Film and television industry have created the fashion trends of today. This medium is so powerful and subtle it affects our very thoughts and ideals. Take a series like LOST for example these characters in a way become the idols for design, where designers create pieces (trends) that mimic or redefine a genre with a twist or a flick of an electronic brush.Everyone knows the movie Top Gun..? Well I wonder how many pairs of Ray Ban Aviators they sold after that movie was released? Have style and cool fashion trends become ways to make a quick buck by appealing to our vanity? Or is there still that elusive spark of creation that drives our inner artist?
Enragedclowns up against flyingwarriors in fierce high-energy dancespectacles- gravity-defying head spins, kill offs, arm swings, character work, body illusions… with face paint, the coolestclothingapparel purging agression in the ultimate BATTLEZONE to bethebest. The art of dance evolved into some extra-ordinary source for the next revolution: KRUMP!!!
Kingdom. Radical. Uplifting. Mighty. Praise. (KRUMP) is what the HYPE is all about- the latest dance style everyone’srantingabout. ‘Get Krump’ or ‘get bucc’ is the slang and gives communities an ultimatum to combating the vicious times through dance. Hellyeahhhh!!!!!! Many are even going as far as saying that all burdens should be taken to the dancefloor and ‘get krump’ for spiritual relief. It uplifts my spirits everytime I see someone ‘get bucc’ so much emotion, so much intensity. If you’ve seen someone ‘get krump’ you’ll know what I’m talking about.
TightEyez (proclaimed to be the greatest dancer of all time), Enforcer, J-Tight are my favouritekrumpers and always are dressed in the most hottesturbanclothing and rugged-styledfashion. I love it. I just found some cool KRUMPt-shirts today on KRUMPKINGS with unique KRUMP flavour for all dancers and krumping fans. Here are some of the t-shirts!!

The other day I was talking about extreme t-shirts and their close brethren the sports t-shirt.
Why is it that there are pretty much zero Springleap.com design winners of a sports t-shirt style?
Ok so maybe there aren’t exactly zero sports t-shirts, there has been one or two instances where the genre has appeared and come out with a win.
The first such example is undoubtedly Robbielee’sThe BAD in badminton, which fits the genre of sport t-shirt really nicely, while still having that special Springleap.com flair.
After all this is NOT your typical sports designs, no sir, any design that has a giant propelled robot intent on serving the humans with a deadly shuttlecock, is definitely not normal.
However that is the funny thing about Springleap’s designs, every single one, no matter how normal the design genre may seem, is always taken to the next level and given that extra little quirk.
Obviously the realm of sport t-shirts falls under this creative influence….hey you know you love it
Why are people so afraid to make their voices heard at Springleap.comt-shirt design community? Did you know that 10% of us have the ability to influence the buying patterns of the remaining 90%.
This is great for designers; if t-shirt designers pay attention to what artprosumers want on a t-shirt design they could tap into the voter’s preferences and ‘BADDA BING’ win a t-shirt competition! We’re actually looking at a generation of T-shirt designopinion leaders. WAKE UP! Fashion can be affected by your opinion guys! If you don’t like what you see, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!
