Is it just me or have I become the Springleap.com design Jinx? Seriously all the kick ass designs that I put as my top faves end up not winning. Shooo I really hope I’m not the Bad-Mojo-Master.
As many of you will already know Shampoo Warrior was the top prize winner for our Football Fever theme competition. Color Culture was a surprise winner, to be sure. What will happen with our latest competition The Hard of Rock?
As always I give a list of the t-shirt designs that strike me as the highest potential winners. These choices are purely designs that I think can make it, nobody else’s.
I have to say that my choices this month were rather difficult to settle on. The reason for this is because the world of Rock is huge! I know the name of the theme competition kinda points towards the heavier genre of rock n roll, but hey some of the designs were so cool, I can’t help but include them.
First up I want to draw your attention to Rock and Roll by Graphanixdziner. The colour palette here is mega effective, I have always been a fan of yellow on black, coz it stands out like a stage diver at a Neil Diamond concert. This design has all the elements of a great Hard of Rock t-shirt: It has the proverbial skull, it has the chaotic effect, it has somebody throwing the “double horns”. Yep, if only Sabbath knew throwing the horns around would end up as an international sign of the occult and darker rock…LOL. Overall I think this is a well balanced design that is really noteworthy. Nicely done dude!
Cmatos, who we all know and love, has submitted 3 different rock inspired designs for this compo. One of the designs is actually an older submission that didn’t quite make it, although very popular. The design from Cmatos that I feel I’d like to add as my fav is the entry called Rockstar. As soon as I opened up it just screamed Weezer and good old fashioned emo-rock…that is before emo became pathetic lol. What can I say I still clutch my Pinkerton album and eat icecream when I’m down hahaha. This design has all the character design flair we have come to expect from Cmatos, as well as considerable appropriateness for this design compo.

Lastly we have a design from another Springleap.com multiple winner, Suburbanhijinx. Stayin Alive captures the hardcore essence of rock, as well as the punk scene of yesteryear. This one really takes me back to the good ol days of punk rock, English skin heads and proper anti-political angst.
This design has such a great mix of design elements, I can’t help but love it. I have to say, this is my fav for the entire competition. Fingers crossed for ya buddy.
