Joost van der Westhuizen slept around….hectic.
Truth to be told I actually don’t care very much for drama and dramatics in the private lives of stars. Seriously, I don’t give a fiddle about whether or not he and Amor had an explosive argument, or if the rumours about him being caught with an escort on tape are true. What I’m more interested in is the fact that his new book has been written by a zombie. That’s right boys and girls Joost’s new book entitled Joost: The Man In The Mirror, has been written by a brain eating deadman from the grave.
David Gemmell is his name.
Ok, so this morning whilst checking good ol’ New24, I saw that there was an article about Joost…I yawned….then whilst sipping my coffee began to choke.
I was affronted by a startling realization. One of the most famous fantasy writers of all time, David Gemmell, has come back from the dead to continue his brilliant writing. However, while I’m glad he is back, I have to wonder why he has decided to take up sports writing. This is very unlike him….perhaps there was a mix-up on the River Styx and they sent the wrong soul back in the wrong body.
Yep, Charon is going to be very upset with some lesser administrator and stick him in Limbo for a century or so.
Yes it’s all pretty funny. Its seems that the dude who is writing Joost van der Westhuizen’s new biography, has exactly the same name and spelling of the man who is hailed as the ‘grandfather of fantasy’, for our era.
Indeed if you read fantasy novels, you WILL know about David Gemmell. He is responsible for such classics as Legend and Wolf in Shadow. The entire fantasy/sci-fi community was rocked when he passed away a few years ago. Anybody who was hooked on his Troy series will tell you that it was a dark day. Unfortunately, he died before it was completed, so the mantle was taken up by his wife. She took his mostly completed notes and finished the final book for us…*whew*
I’m sure that the Joost writing Gemmell has been the butt of plenty of jokes already, because of his names affiliation, but hey it was news to me. I couldn’t resist a little jab. In fact it’s pretty damn cool that they share the same name. I guess he won’t be writing about epic battles, but instead rucks and scrums and of course verbal lashings between him and Amor. LOL.
