Hi there comic lovers.
Don’t you just wish there were more South Africans making high quality graphic novels with unique and interesting storyline….never gonna happen? THINK AGAIN.
Enter Salem Brownstone. This exquisitely drawn graphic novel by Nikhil Singh just goes to show that we should never sell our South African artists short. No way no how!
Truth to tell the first time I heard about the amazing art of Nikhil Singh was through his cousin, who works at Springleap.com…none other than Mehul. It was funny because I had already seen Nikhil’s illustration and fallen in love with it. When we put 2 and 2 together I felt like such a n00b. I guess that is a problem with some artists…you remember every bit of their style, but their name eludes you…dammit.
The writer of Salem Brownstone goes by the name John Harris Dunning. I’m not sure, but I think that he is also originally South African. That means we have a seriously powerful team of Saffa creative energy. Of course If John is not from SA, my apologies. I just can’t seem to find his bio anywhere online
