Earth Hour

Go GREEN!

Alright guys and girls its time to get your full eco-awareness on. Earth Hour is upon us and it’s time to show the world that you truly care. For those of you who don’t know, the UN Climate Change Conference will be taking place this December in Copenhagen. In the run-up to what could be a momentous change in world policy for the fight against global warming, Earth Hour stands as a symbol of this movement for eco-change.
We at Springleap.com are totally behind the cause and hope that you will also join the ever growing army of eco-warriors.

Lexi has already written a blog on Springleap.com about Earth Hour. So, I feel it’s only appropriate that the eSquared site also backs her up. CLICK HERE to read what she had to say.

Springleap.com in general has been thinking a heckova lot lately about Earth Hour and the Climate Change Conference. We are running our Enviro Mental theme competition to show our support for the Earth Hour cause.
This particular theme competition speaks volumes about the way people feel about the destruction of our planet. It’s the perfect opportunity for artists to express their views through the medium of t-shirt design.

Earth Hour has grown at an amazing rate over the past few years. In March 2009, 88 countries participated in switching off their lights for an hour, to stand in solidarity for the cause and show the world governments that we are serious about change. This time Earth Hour is going to be even bigger, with even more people standing up for the cause.
Go across to the Earth Hour page and click on the VOTE EARTH button. Fill out the quick personal details fields and then send. Your vote will then be taken across to Copenhagen, to stand with the millions of others who want our children and our children’s children, to have a healthy beautiful world to live in.

For all of you who have websites, there is also a page where you can download widgets and other types of “digital-badges”, to show that you support Earth Hour. There is seriously a whole host of these badges/banners/posters/twibbons, so there is plenty of ways to show you care.

As Lexi says in her posting, inevitable climate change is barely 5 years away. We are talking serious water level increases, which will leave millions without homes. Droughts will also become more and more prevalent, meaning people will be forced to move to greener pastures. Because of all this movement we will also inevitably see more strife between people looking for a better way of life and those trying to preserve their own. We are talking potential civil wars across the globe.

This is no joke people. While Earth Hour may seem for many like a “hippy task” that means nothing. I urge those people to take a look at the facts and realize the situation we are facing.
Support Earth Hour and stand up for your planet. The time to act is now. Do not procrastinate!

Peace to the world.

Duncs.
