Here is some rocking news for all of you music lovers out there.
Whenever summer hits in Cape Town music seems to take centre stage. One of the most popular summer music events in recent years, has been the Old Mutual Kirtsenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts.
No matter what your music tastes are, there will definitely be something for you to come and enjoy.
Just do yourself a favour, be like Jack: nimble and quick.
I went across to the SANBI website and scoped out the line-up which will be running all the way through to early February. Wow, I’m pretty sure the Summer Sunset Concerts never extended that long. But hey, I’m certainly not complaining.

So which acts am I most looking forward to?
Well, here are my top choices of what is to come. Seriously all of our tastes are different, so best check the link.
The 27th of December is going to be a BIG ONE! Kirstenbosch will be rocked by not only Ashtray Electric, but also the Pretty Blue Guns.
W00t, both of these bands are both becoming very well known and have gained a serious reputation, especially in Cape Town. Also this is a great pre-new year’s warm-up party to get you in the party mood. If you want tickets for this one you better bloody pounce quick-quick!
On the 17th of January Kirstenbosch will hold host to Zebra & Giraffe. This local band has such HUGE potential to make it in the industry. These dudes are going to blow the crowds to pieces with their catchy songs and unique onstage chemistry. They rocked the Summer Sunset Concerts last year…and are now back by popular demand. PREPARE YOURSELVES!!!!
Perhaps my most anticipated band of the Summer will be aKing, who are currently my absolute favourite South African band. Love their sound, love the lyrics, love the whole feel of the band. Yep, I’m a fan indeed!
I’m going to have to pounce on these tickets mega quick, because I know that this performance is going to be sold out in a manner of nano-seconds. SA talent at its best!
The last band on my list is a very well known, South African favourite. They went overseas and were on the verge of becoming something monstrous, when suddenly bad luck came their way and they had to head back to sunny SA. We are glad to have Just Jinger back, but not under the circumstances. I will most certainly be attending this concert, it’s going to be a real hum-dinger J

Adult range between R65 – R95
Youth (6-21 years old) range between R40 – R70
BOTSOC members range between R55 – R85
