Battle of the Best top 5

Hi there Springleapers.

I’m depressed as all hell. I just completed my voting for the Battle of the Best theme competition!
The truth is that I thought I would be happy to have a theme competition that featured all of our past winners fighting it out for the top designers spot.
If you have as yet not seen how many frigging insanely good designs are part of the competition, you won’t understand my sorrow.
Its time for my Battle of the Best top 5.

I want them all! You heard me ALL OF THEM! I was absolutely astounded at the design power in the Battle of the Best competition. It shouldn’t be surprising of course, but to actually face the challenge of picking my favourites in a compo that is riddled with talent, the problem became seriously vexing.
Usually I pick my top 3 designs for any given competition, but because of the sheer number of designs and of course design power, I have decided to make a top 5 selection….even that is a dismal attempt at picking out my favourites, but bear with me.

Ok here goes. First up in my Battle of the Best top 5 we have a designer who needs no introduction, Suburbanhijinx has done very well on Springleap.com in the past and continues to enter designs that shake up the competition. If Suburbanhijinx enters a competition, he usually has a chance of landing in the top spot. Suburbanhijinx has already won 3 separate theme competitions, which is a good indicator that his designs are truly awesome.
This time around his submission entitled Corporate Execution takes a poke at the ‘fat cats’ who walk all over the little guys like you and me. His solution: grab a corporate pig and send him to his doom, all you need is a blindfold and a rifle…not even a cigarette LOL. This one may be a tad dark to pull off the win this time around, but I reckon that Suburbanhijinx has a good chance with this one. He has other submissions as well, but Corporate Execution is the best of his best ;)

35 Nations winner

Vuvuzero Winner

Greetings all.

Guess what, the winner of our 35 nations of Football theme competition has finally been announced. This time our winner was not that surprising at all. However it was a seriously close one to call. Two designs stood out way more than the rest, but only one could clinch the win.
Congratulations go out to well known Springleap.com designer DaRKo for his Vuvuzero, which is our 35 Nations winner.

What can I say, I’m pretty stoked that this one came out as the winner, however I was also bummed that Diski Warriors from Nicetomeetyou didn’t quite make it. Vuvuzero seemed to start off pretty quiet but as the competition rolled on the landslide of voters supporting DarKo increased substantially.
There was appoint where Diski Warriors was the sure favourite from our side, but the Vuvuzero design grew on us all like a fast growing fungi LOL.

We are positive that the Vuvuzero winning design will be a huge boost during the World Cup period…in fact we wonder if this stunning new DarKo design will make it till kick off. Could this design sell out that fast? I know that one or two of the Springleap.com team at HQ feel that our 35 Nations winner is going to sell out very quickly.
I still have my doubts that it will be completely sold out by then, but I’m hoping that it will do well enough for a reprint. If you are a little worried and think that you won’t get a chance to acquire one of these babies, then best keep your eyes open for the pre-order. I reckon this will be my official football t-shirt for the World Cup…let’s just hope I don’t get beaten up by Vuvuzela wielding fans aiiieeeeee!
