Coast to Coast

Hello there travellers.

South Africa is a huge place filled with many wonderful destination spots. Whether your thing is crisp mountain trails or even shark cage diving, there are places all over to accommodate your needs. The problem is, how do you find these places, if you are a workaholic that never gets out of the city? Hmmm, a rather daunting task awaits you as you scour the internet or try and wangle deals through travel agents.
I say why not just pack your page, jump in the car and just head in a random direction.
How could you possibly survive a mission like this? Well with the trusty SA travel guide called Coast to Coast.

Yep Coast to Coast has been around for many moons. This pocket sized travel book has been a mainstay of backpackers and those looking for a touch of adventure since like…forever.
You most likely have a copy of Coast to Coast lying around your place and you don’t even know it.
As I mentioned this is more of a backpackers guide, so don’t expect Protea hotels and Richie Rich accommodation. Hell no, this one is all about backpacking, which is a lifestyle you either love or loathe.

Personally I don’t mind backpackers. Depending on the place you end up, it will either be a memorable experience or an event straight out of hell (it’s a chance you take). I have heard of a few dodgy backpackers, but I am yet to hear anything negative about any of the places in Coast to Coast…but then again we all have our own unique experiences with these sorts of places. Plus our threshold for backpacking spots are all on different levels.
Most of the places that I have been to through Coast to Coast have worked out ok, so yeah lucky stuff.

I was glad to see that Coast to Coast has also jumped into the high tech world of the “interweb” and have now got a rather awesome little website that serves as a provider for all us geeks that never leave our computer screens. You must definitely head across to their site and scope out what is on offer.

The thing I love about backpackers is that the accommodation is usually adequate and a reasonable price, meaning that you have more money to spend on activities that you really want to, like kayaking, shark cage diving, eating at nice restaurants…whatever takes your fancy!

I have no doubts that Coast to Coast will serve as the proxy to affordable fun for the foreseeable future.
You go guys!!!!!

Duncs.
