competition feedback

Greetings all.

Well well, it looks like time is juuust about up for Faces of Africa.
Tomorrow is the final submission date for this awesome local ‘n lekker theme competition.
Here is my competition feedback so far!

First off I have to say that I am very impressed. I have looked through the submissions and am very happy with not only how many designs were entered, but also that there are some really wicked cool designs amongst them. After the two football theme competitions I have to say I was a tad worried that everybody would be over the whole “African thing”. Luckily I was wrong and some truly cool designs have been submitted.

Another interesting aspect of my competition feedback is the fact that not all of the submissions were from local South Africans. With a theme like Faces of Africa many international designers may find it hard to associate with the overall idea. However we have had a few internationals give it their best shot.

I have a feeling that the Faces of Africa theme competition will be a lot more civil than the absolutely manic Battle of the Best which also draws to a close soon. I suppose it’s always great to get loads of quality submissions, but when there are so many how do you choose? Yep, this is not an easy question to answer. The Faces of Africa competition still has a decent amount of entries, but not enough that you sit sobbing because you can tell which designs are slightly better than the next.

There are a few designs which really stand out above the rest for me in Faces of Africa, obviously it’s too soon for me to spill the beans, but as soon as the competition opens I will be sure to give my “invaluable” 2 cents hahaha.

Well there we have it, thats my competition feedback thus far….more to come soon soon.

Duncs.
