Here is an update for the Springleap.com website that I feel you should all hear about….that is of course if you don’t already know about it hehe.
It’s all about getting your brains refreshed about our super duper theme competition that we will be running in association with the very popular Advanced Photoshop magazine!
I think it’s vital to remind you all about our killer cool Advanced Photoshop competition that we are running at the moment. This is most certainly a BIG one! Not only will you receive the usual big bucks, but you will also get huge exposure on both the Springleap.com site as well as in the Advanced Photoshop magazine.
Now that is publicity that you can’t buy!
I have been on cloud 9 ever since I first heard about our Justice League theme competition.
Obviously being a mega comic book fan this theme is right up my alley.
So here are a few super hero concepts and updates to make sure you are all on the right path with your designs.
First off a quick update about the Justice League theme competition: the competition submission closing date has now been moved to the 13 April 2010. That gives you loads more time to get some killer cool ideasbrewing and deliver a first rate super hero design.
If you are still unsure of what is required for this competition, best drop me a comment or head across to the main Springleap.com page for the Justice League theme. We will be happy to fill you in on the details!
Other than the date change, there are no serious amendments to the schedule, however please keep track for any changes on the main page.
I have had loads of funny ideas running around in my head about this compo, here are some super hero concepts to get your creative juices flowing:
1. Create the dodgiest super hero ever.
2. Put together your own super hero squad, either funny or just damn cool.
3. Design a comic geek t-shirt, fan boys ahoy!
4. Make fun of one of your favourite super heroes…maybe wolverines claws into cutlery
5. Super heroes on holiday, or stuck at work using their powers to get the job done.
So the kids are tearing up the house and are chomping at the bit to get out and do something fun, but, what to do?
Well it seems you are in luck my friends, because Exclusive Books will be holding a series of children’s book events in a nationwide Children’s Festival.
Wow, now this is something that the whole family can get involved in!
I’m a firm advocate of fun events like this, not just because you open your children to a whole new world of exciting stories and mind blowing characters, but also because they get a chance to meet lots of other kiddies and develop their people skills.
There will be a multitude of events across the country, but I will focus on Cape Town events. If you wanna see what other Children’s festival events are up in your neck of the woods, please head across to the Exclusive Booksevent page.
Ok, unfortunately the Canal Walk event was last week, which means we have 3 more events here in the Cape Town zone. Today (27th march – 10:00) there will be an event at both the V&A Waterfront and Cavendish shopping centres. The V&A will be holding a sing along and reading dedication for the mega popular kids music series called Mafutha the Elephant. This promises to be a great one for the youngsters who will not only get to dance around but also stretch those vocal chords a little hehe. I’m sure you will be taking home considerably lessenergeticchildren after this event
Hi there Springleapers.
Once again we have a super cool theme competition up for voting. So, I thought I would show you my personal8-bit bytes back top designs.
I knew that this competition was going to be a hectic one to vote on, but I’m actually quite confident of my 8-bit bytes backtop designs choices. Each one of them has a little “sumthin-sumthin” that takes their level of power to the next level.
My first design of interest is also probably my favourite of the competition. The stunning 8-bit masterpiece entitled My name is Frank by Jungiestroke, is probably one of the coolest 8-bit designs I have ever seen. Obviously the design is a representation of what an 8-bit Frankenstein would look like.
Hey, who says Frank is a bad natured animated construct, just look at how happy and fun he looks. Plus he’s wearing a cross, so maybe this version of Frank even goes to church on Sundays hehehe.
I know this design is a tad gory…well in fact I haven’t seen such a gory design since the super well known 28 Smurfs Later design. But don’t worry the blood is 8-bit digital so it’s not quite as offensive
I take my hat off to Jungiestroke for his super cool My name is Frank design, truly awesome design chief!
