Super Heroes

Greetings one and all.

I have been on cloud 9 ever since I first heard about our Justice League theme competition.
Obviously being a mega comic book fan this theme is right up my alley.
So here are a few super hero concepts and updates to make sure you are all on the right path with your designs.

First off a quick update about the Justice League theme competition: the competition submission closing date has now been moved to the 13 April 2010. That gives you loads more time to get some killer cool ideas brewing and deliver a first rate super hero design.

If you are still unsure of what is required for this competition, best drop me a comment or head across to the main Springleap.com page for the Justice League theme. We will be happy to fill you in on the details!
Other than the date change, there are no serious amendments to the schedule, however please keep track for any changes on the main page.

I have had loads of funny ideas running around in my head about this compo, here are some super hero concepts to get your creative juices flowing:
1. Create the dodgiest super hero ever.
2. Put together your own super hero squad, either funny or just damn cool.
3. Design a comic geek t-shirt, fan boys ahoy!
4. Make fun of one of your favourite super heroes…maybe wolverines claws into cutlery :P
5. Super heroes on holiday, or stuck at work using their powers to get the job done.

See it’s easy to rattle off some arb concepts. I’m sure you funky designers can come up with something truly brilliant in no time ;)

One or two members were a bit perturbed by the meaning of Justice League and the implications it had on the competition, that being, does the competition focus on DC universe characters.
Absolutely not! This has nothing to do specifically with DC or the “real” Justice League.
Rather it was just a theme title that would help identify the content with the required design submissions…by the looks of it that didn’t quite work out as we had hoped.
Look basically as long as you stick to parody and don’t overstep the usual copyright rules, your design will be a-ok and ready for voting.

I’m absolutely giddy about this competition. I can just see the big players descending from their shadowy roosts with full power design might! Can you imagine the super hero concepts that are on the way to our eyeballs as we speak? Wooo Hoooo!!!!

D.
