Hi there movie fans.
Just a little while back I wrote a blog about who would end up playing the role of Captain America in the upcoming Marvel movie rendition of the mega popular character.
In my previous posting I gave you a long list of several names that were up for the role, however things have “happened” and the actor has indeed been chosen….but that is where the strangeness starts.
The most obvious eyebrow raising bit of info on the Captain America actor subject is that not one of the guys on the list I provided last time have made it to the final cut. Huh, but I thought that was the final cut of names! Yeah well you and me both!
The good news about this subject is that the man who has been chosen to play Captain America is a rocking upcoming actor who I really enjoy. Congratulations go out to Chris Evans for snagging the role of the Capn’!
Does this man’s name ring a bell to you? It should he has been popping up all over the place at the moment. Firstly he pulled off a pretty cool Human Torch in the Fantastic 4 movie franchise and then a rather awesome more “grown up” role as the telekinetic running man in Push J
Ok, so the Fantastic 4 flicks weren’t exactly the greatest superhero flicks to date, but they were still a really good grounding for an actor who will have to pull out all the stops in order to become a believable Captain America. If I had only watched Fantastic 4 I wouldn’t have thought he could do it, but after watching Push recently it gives me hope. While Push was knocked down pretty hard by the critics I still thought it was a half decent movie…it was kinda what Heroes should have been (in a way). The point I’m trying to make is that Chris Evans pulled off a bloody good lead role in Push and really impressed me, well, in comparison to his other movie roles.
One small glitch that may annoy a few super hero fans is the very fact that Evans played the role of Johnny Storm (Human Torch) in the FF4. Both Johnny and the Captain come from the same Marvel universe, so how can he play two roles? Will they then not include the FF4 in the upcoming Avengers movies? Right now this is a bit of strange detail that must be taken into consideration, but obviously the “movie dudes” think it will be inconsequential. I surely hope you people know what you are doing!
This is a BIG role for Evans, he’s indeed one lucky dog! Not only will he get to play Captain America in the Capn’ franchise, but he will also play the role of the leader of the Avengers in the new movies. Yep, he’s gonna definitely be getting a small fortune dropped on his head. Let’s hope that it serves as a springboard role to this killer cool upcoming star. Go for it Chris!
SO there we have it folks, our Captain America actor is here and ready to shoulder barge the Red Skull off a cliff…with hopefully a very veeery long drop hahaha!
