The future is now!
Yep we have heard it all before about ”mech suits” and how they want to have them in the commercial market within the next ten years. However there have been very few viable models coming to the fore that look like they will work. It has been almost 2 years since my last post about these kinds of robotic assist suits and I thought that the dream of seeing one was unlikely, but the good news is that the latest design is set for release in 2012.
Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology has recently unveiled its prototype robotic assist suit that can be used by the elderly, especially on farms across Japan. There is no reason however that this new robotic suit cannot be used in all sectors of industry. There will be a heavy model which can be used in factories for example and of course the light model with could even be used in homes.
