Fatboy Slim Cape Town

Fatboy Slim CT

Hi there Music Lovers.

Recently I heard a very awesome piece of info regarding music performer Fatboy Slim. The Man, The Legend will be gracing us with his presence at the upcoming World Cup football music events at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. Damn right boys and girls. Prepare to hold onto your sanity! Friday 18th June is when the music will explode.

Fatboy Slim has become a legend in his own time. Whether you call him a DJ, or a dance artist…it doesn’t really matter, this guy is both of these labels and so much more. I remember back in the day when I was but a dance dance Padawan and had a tentative grasp of the dance music industry, that Fatboy Slim was an artist to be watched. There is no doubt that songs like Rockafeller Skank and Weapon of Choice changed my perspective on music altogether.

Now it’s is South Africa’s turn to bask in the vibrancy and energy that is Fatboy Slim and to truly have a party to kick off the World Cup in the manner it deserves.

The CTICC will play host to not only Fatboy Slim but a whole host of top DJ’s and bands throughout the World’s most popular sporting event. We are talking about a 31 day party, of which Fatboy Slim is only one of those days. Shoooo it’s going to be a mad, mad month for Capetonians….not to mention a serious money sucker HAHAHA!
Global Icons and Cool Britannia will be putting on a music extravaganza from 12 noon - 3am every single freaking day….WOW!

Simple design

simple design

Greetings one and all.

Simple designs are by no mean uncommon on Springleap.com
Since we started all those “many eons” ago, we have had plenty of simple designs coming through to the competition, trying their best to fight toe-to-toe with the more intricate “high design” styles.
Its not like simple designs have no chance of winning, in fact quite a few of our past winners are very simple indeed. In our latest theme competition we had a few of these designs come through…some that were strong and others that were, not so strong!
What makes a simple design work boys and girls?
Let take a look at 2 examples of simple designs from the new competition shall we!

Open theme Top Choices

Open theme top designs may end

Hi there voting fanatics J

Groovy news! Many of you may have already seen the voting has opened for our next Open theme competition on Springleap.com. Those of you who have, as yet, not checked out the really great new set of designs are in for a serious treat, prepare yourselves!
Here are my Open theme Top Choices for the end of May!

Yep it seems that every single one of my Open theme Top Choices are indeed from well established designers here on Springleap.com. Which I suppose isn’t really surprising considering their level of design might. Usually I have a little bit of doubt that none of my top choices will be winners. However in this competitions case, I am almost 100% certain that 1 of them will walk away with top prize. I mean just look at this flurry of spectacular designs.

First up we have Cash who we all know and love for his stunning winning designs Spring Bottle and, my personal favourite, Happyland. This time around Cash brings us a design called China Town, which is simply bursting with character power and close attention to detail…which seems to be one of Cash major designs strong points.
The character walking down the street just looks so happy and totally serene in relation to his surroundings. There is so much vibrancy in this design and even though there is a limited colour selection it actually works very well in the designs favour.
There is a strong chance Cash has the win in the bag with this brilliantly conceptualized and seamlessly executed design!

Retro theme winner

I mean like WOAH

Greetings Springleap.com fans.

Well the votes are in and the winner of our old school Retro theme competition has come to an end!
Congratulations are in order for Kingslip who walked away with a very convincing win with his super funny design entitled I mean like WOAH!

There were a handful of designs that were in really close contention for the win this time around. In the end it was CHUCKY’s killer cool Make $ome cash and the extremely popular Fokken Prawn Star design by JEG, that were sitting at the top tier of design choices for the Retro compo, along with I mean like WOAH of course ;)

However when push came to shove and it was down to the top prize Kingslip’s design just couldn’t NOT win! This design is lathered in a phat layer of retro, the likes of which we rarely see on this website. There is no doubt that this design is the best choice for the win.
Some people may dispute that Fokken Prawn Star was much better, in some way I suppose it was, however it was in the wrong competition altogether and didn’t really factor into the Retro genre.
For all you Fokken Prawn Star fans out there don’t be too bummed, because I’m certain that this design will be re-entered very soon into an open theme compo, where it belongs.
