Now, I have seen plenty of strange product names in my time.
Many of you would have seen them in funny emails over the years. I’ve bust my gut at gems such at Shitto’scanned spiced peppers, at BumBumice cream and even a cock flavoured soup mix.
Yep, there are some seriously funny product names out there that just have to make you sit back and shake your head in delighted dismay.
However, then you get well known brands that name their products completely arbitrary names.
One particular example that made me raise an eyebrow is a Defy Slim Line oven, which is simply called Six Hundred.
Ok, so this is nowhere near as funny as BumBum ice cream, but is particularly funny on an absolutely arbitrary angle. So I consider this a “strange product name”. I mean you could call your oven absolutely anything, the Baker 9000, the Mega Roaster Supreme….hell, even Hades Crimator-max would be more exciting, or even make more sense than Six Hundred.
While the front runners battle it out for the top spot in our latest Open Theme competition, we seem to have a few designs that are waiting in the wings who may very well possibly cause a serious upset. Yep, as we have learnt so many times in the past, no competition win is ever set in stone. Honestly I can’t even count on one hand the amount of times I was absolutely certain a design was going to take the win any given competition.
Here are a few trailing designs that seem to be creeping ever closer to the primary group.
Sirsaff has submitted a rather wonderful little design called Think Green. What I love about this design is that it has a wonderful eco awareness theme that has been delivered in a rather simple yet beautiful way. However when I say “beautiful”, I mean it in the girlies AND manliest way possible, Indeed this design could easily be worn by both, guys or girls!
This design uses some great elements to get its message across. The tree that looks like a brain, hence the “Think Green” title is really smart and needs absolutely no explanation…or at least, it shouldn’t.
There has also been a decent amount of feedback on the design from the community, with the majority being positive remarks, which can at times be an indicator of a design with a chance.
If there is a boat-load of positive comments, it bodes well indeed!
