Faces of Africa Winner

Faces of Africa WINNER

Hi there one and all.

Weeeeee have a winner folks!
It looks like my winning design detector has been working quite well lately. Even though this design came through late to the competition voting page it still managed to wrestle away the win from a whole host of killer cool designs. In actual fact I did a blog on Tu’s brilliant winning Freedom Walker design maybe 2 days before the winner was announced, saying that I felt it deserved a mention and should have been in my Top Design picks for the Faces of Africa theme compo.
So let’s hear it for the amazing Tu and his stunning winning design Freedom Walker….hippidy hip hooray!!!!

One thing for sure this design has it all going on! Not only is the design unique and interesting, but it has also been put together beautifully and with a very close adhering to the proposed theme.

8-bit Bytes Back criteria

8-bit Bytes Back criteria

Pew Pew….level up…boing boing SPLAT!

Ello ello my Springleaping buddies.

I’m ever so stoked about our latest Springleap.com theme competition. I grew up playing the most classic 8-bit games ever and it has always been a privilege of mine to grow up in a time when games were still in their infancy…I suppose it makes me appreciate modern day uber games that much more. I mean I come from a time when games were simply text based…no graphics. I’m sure some of you will remember the insanity of Zork and even those quirky online games like MUD’s Moosehead Sled….ahhhh those were the days!
So what exactly are the 8-bit Bytes back criteria?

There seems to already be tons of positive feedback from the community about the 8-Bit Bytes Back compo. I couldn’t believe how many members have been waiting for a competition like this to come along. I guess that means we can expect a big turnout in designs for this one.

Advanced Photoshop recap

Advanced Photoshop

Hi there friends.

Today I thought I might give a recap on our current theme competition Advanced Photoshop.
First things first, the competition entries are rolling in nicely, but we want to see even more make their way across to us.

I seriously cannot highlight enough how important this competition is. This is one hellova opportunity for budding artists who want to get their name out there. I suppose you could call the Advanced Photoshop competition a “double whammy” of design exposure. Not only will you get the usual massive exposure on Springleap.com, which is amazing enough as it is, but you will also get a chance to be featured in Advanced Photoshop magazine which is read all over the world. Now that is exposure that you don’t get a chance to grab every day…this is special!

Freedom Walker

Freedom Walker

Ello ello all u Leapers out there!

This blog has a two-fold function!
First: I want to highlight an awesome new submission for the Faces of Africa design theme competition called Freedom Walker by none other than design master Tu.
Second: talk about design that may have potential beyond t-shirt design.

Ok so first off Tu’s new design Freedom Walker! Unfortunately we had a small glitch on the backend and this fabulously awesome design only appeared for voting almost a day late. Hopefully this won’t reflect on the votes, because I know quite a few members hit the voting page as soon as it goes up.
This seriously funky design borrows the idea of the well known Johnnie Walker branding and transforms it into a truly South African design which suits Face of Africa down to the ground.
This design has mega potential and even though it is a late entry I feel that it could go all the way for the win…in fact if it had been posted sooner when I did my voting it would have ended up on my Top Picks for the compo list.
