Art in fashion is booming

It’s amazing how art has crept into the world of fashion. I’m so glad it has, because the fusion of art in fashion has made me want to be a part of it.

Springleap.com embraces art in an unconventional way and t-shirt competitions are becoming a worldwide trend! By now you know the benefits of a website like Springleap.com are endless and it’s awesome that opportunities for designers are becoming so well known.

The topic of innovative art in fashion has got me really excited of late, because I keep coming across the most weird and wonderful artwork. Japanese artist Fumie Sasabuchi is no exception…

Although her art sways from physical design on t-shirts and other apparel it carries a deeper message that ties in with art and fashion very mysteriously. Her work is pushing the ‘art in fashion’ envelope by giving it a totally different meaning.

Fumie re-works fashion photography from magazines into a scene of death. The fashion zombies she creates explores the boundaries of what is accepted in fashion in terms of typical Western culture by exploiting the flexibility of art in fashion.

What is gorgeous on the surface wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for the beauty of anatomy. She shows us underlying beauty and fiddles with the concept of death. It’s creepy, but wonderful art! See more of her art in fashion at Artnet.com

Who is your favourite t-shirt designer?

Hi everyone!

I have found my idol and I’m in love!
Have you ever gotten’ the fuzzy ‘love tingle’ from merely setting your eyes on something beautiful?
This is the only time love at first sight has hit me and I need to share it with you!

I was searching Beautiful/Decay Magazine’s online shop for original t-shirts. They started Artists Series Apparel so that they could do something more for some of the artists and designers they feature in the magazine. The most popular products on the site are the t-shirts (which are really cool designs), but they have an array of other apparel aswell. I loved this concept, so I had a look and came across this amazing design

Of course I just had to know who the artist was behind this cool design. Her name is Aya Kato and each and every one of her pieces are amazingly detailed and captivating. Being Japanese, her illustration style is cunningly oriental with a surreal twist. Do yourself a favour and take a better look at her artwork gallery on ayakato.net

Cool designs make incredibly cool t-shirts. Can you imagine how she would kick ass in ANY t-shirt competition! Art in fashion is making it big all over the world, so step your talents up a notch and get creative guys!

Now I’d like to know: “Who is your favourite t-shirt artist / designer ?”

Peace

Katekyo Hitman Reborn

hitman-reborn

Ciaossu minasan :D

I think it’s about time I brought you up to speed on a new manga, it has been ages since the last time right?!
This time I decided to do something a bit more Shonen (boys manga) and a little less Seinen (adult manga…not porn)…because let’s face it the Seinen stuff is pretty damn hardcore.
Let me introduce you to a pretty recent (2006 - ongoing) new manga called Katekyō Hitman Reborn.

Katekyo Hitman Reborn basically translates as Home Tutor Hitman Reborn.
The plot is about a young Japanese boy called Tsunayoshi Sawada, but everybody calls him Tsuna…”Useless Tsuna” to be more accurate.
Why does everybody call him useless? Well Tsuna is your stereotypical hapless Japanese school boy.
He sucks at academics and sucks even more at sports, he’s zero popular and has no friends…what’s even worse is that the girl he loves doesn’t even know he exists….it can’t get much worse for poor Tsunaunfortunately, as with most manga…they do.

Jiraishin Manga

jiraishin

Jiraishin or Ice Blade as it’s known in Western circles is a hard hitting police story in the truly Seinen style.
It’s violent, it’s hardcore, it doesn’t pull its punches…yes Jiraishin is a manga of considerable content.
The story itself is quite old and was first released back in 1992 and ran until 1999 where it was completed.
Jiraishin comes from the mind of Tsutomu Takahashi who has become well respected after creating Jiraishin and also working with some of the manga industries hottest talent, his former assistant was none other than Tsutomu Nihei went on to create BLAME, which is s sci-fi manga I featured a little while back. Takahashi also did work for the Gad Guard anime…which I don’t think was his finest work.
