Unfortunately I couldn’t get to Cape Town Fashion Week, but initial reports are that it was a lot of fun. Maybe coz that’s Eran was right in the thick of the action, with his camera taking tons of pics.
Cape Town Fashion Week is now sponsored by Alive, so perhaps things ran a little differently this time round.
Well, there are a LOT of Fashion Weeks in the next few weeks, with the next one on the cards being the Sanlam Fashion week in JHB.
Sanlam fashion week is just around the corner and as some of you will know that during this period the DACFashion seminar runs together with it.
This is the 6th year that the DAC fashion seminar will be held and every year it proves to highlight important issues and exciting trends in the fashion industry.
This year the seminar will undoubtedly focus primarily on the rocky economic situation that we are all facing at the moment.
“Get with the fashion programme!” will be the name that the seminars will be conducted under this year
Last weekend the design Design Indaba 2009 was back in Cape Town and absolutely rocked the socks off of everybody that attended.
It was my very first Design Indaba, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect…everybody in the design world always speaks of the event in a revered tone, so my expectations were high.
First off let me say that the Design Indaba 2009 was wonderfully organised…well that is from my outsiders perspective that is, hopefully everything went smoothly for the companies involved.
It seems that the Design Indaba is a huge springboard for a brand and makes me wish we had been there this year…Springleap.com would have kicked much bum.
Attention all you shoppers the first IFS (International fashion sale) 2009 is well under way and and as usual it’s a mad house of mega bargains.
If you are in Gauteng and have as yet not been down, or heaven forbid have never been, now is the time to get in your car and get down there.
Mr. Wesley Hardstyle has already mentioned this show a few days back, but I thought I’d better let those of you know who may have missed the mail what all the fuss is about.
Soooo why is it worth your while to check out this years International fashion sale 2009?
Well for starters it’s basically a huge arena of savings on everything from underground funky labels, like Springleap.com, to well known established fashion houses and international fashion gurus.
Yep companies from all sides of the spectrum rub shoulders at these events making it not only a great spot to showcase your latest gear, but also to network with companies that see eye to eye with your ideals and fashion philosophies.
