Heya movie fans.
While there seems to be no end to the great list of forthcoming movies coming our way, there is one flick that I have to say really appeals to me, and that is Harry Brown.
You may be asking what the heck is Harry Brown. Indeed I hadn’t even heard about it until fairly recently. Basically it fits into the whole vigilante/revenge genre, which has been so popular lately. First we had Taken with Liam Neeson, which was actually pretty awesome (I actually hired it twice, which I seem to seldom do these days) and more recently Mel Gibson movie called Edge of Darkness…which was moderate to south westerly.
But now it is time for the legendary Michael Caine to take up the role of vengeful 70 (odd) year old pensioner Harry Brown, who has simply had enough and exacts his revenge in a most bloody fashion!
Basically Harry Brown is good dude. He is a retired ex-marine who fulfils his day by sitting by his dying wife’s bedside and playing the odd game of chess with his old buddy Leonard in the local pub.
Unfortunately things are not all peachy. They live on a dilapidated old council estate that is run by a bunch of drug dealing ruffian scum bags who make life hell for the residents and randomly beat whoever they want…without reprisals from the community or the police.
Harry’s buddy Leonard decides he will try and do something about it and starts carrying a bayonet around with him, unfortunately a few days later he winds up dead…and let me tell you Harry is not happy. From this point on Harry Brown is a man of the mission and all the deadly training from his former days in the army emerge as he seeks to exact his revenge on the gang.
