David Arquette does Propr fashion?

propr stuffI cringe in fear when I hear about celebrity fashion labels?

David Arquette, who I’m sure many of you will know for his role as the happy-go-lucky police officer from the Scream slasher-flicks, has teamed up with a musician called Ben Harper , to put together their own fashion label called Propr.

To be honestly I had never heard of Harper until recently…thank you Wiki and Youtube for filling in the gaps.

The style is urban and pretty slick…the ‘trendoids’ would prob pick it up with a fury.
Nothing that I have seen thus far really takes my fancy, but the ladies range looks like it has promise. Maybe I will hunt down a piece online (I will blog about it for def)

I have added a few videos to my posting on this subject on Springleap.
Join in the conversation there when you get a chance!
Everyone knows how pedantic I am about tee designs. Which is why I roast his tee design for XO clothing.
Honestly its just a lil bit of writing on a plain white tee…can only imagine how much the tee costs.
Just because it was done by a famous dude they knock the price waaaay up…and for what. BAH!

I much prefer our awesome tees here at Springleap, hellllll yeah!!!!

The above pics are taken from their normal range. You can see what I mean about the ladies collection having hope, the guys…well the guys is a tad camp.

I’m very interested to see what this company can do and if it will take off properly….and also, who makes the decisions on what gets produced.

Do you think these garments are PROPR?

HANSA ‘Special Ingredient’ competition update

HANSA SPECIAL INGREDIENTHi there all you designers out there.

As many of you would already know the HANSA ‘Special Ingredient’ competition is well under way and so far the designs are HOT HOT HOT!

Voting has already begun, however please bear in mind that the submissions will still be open until 9th June.

I know that there are quite a few designers that have been working feverishly to get their designs in on time, but relax, the 9th is still a while away….so you have some time.

Good luck!

It has been interesting to see the submissions that are up for voting so far. Each person has attacked the subject from their own unique angle but at the same time has kept with the Hansa Pilsener vibe.

While I don’t like to choose favorites this early into the game, I must say that I have been VERY impressed with Bleet’s contributions. UNTIL THE LAST DROPS and HANSA FLAGS are two of Bleet’s designs that are going to cause some serious NOISE!

If you hot-shot designers out there are looking for a designer that has gone all out on his subs, this is def one of them.

Get those designs through. With US$1250 on the line….nobody has an excuse not to send through some power design.

Who has got what it takes to climb to the top and blow Hansa away?

D.

Kingslip winning design

I mean like WOAH by Kingslip

Greetings design fans.

One of the coolest theme competitions to hit Springleap.com in recent months has to be our super styling, old school Retro theme competition.
After a fierce battle of 8-bit insanity Kingslip emerged victorious and took the win!

Kingslip has been submitting designs to our competitions for as long as I can remember. Indeed it’s difficult to keep track of all the wicked cool designs that he has sent us over the compo eons.
His winning design I mean like WOAH is however his very first winning design on Springleap.com
So this is indeed a very special moment for a guy that has added so much design power to our site.

I mean like WOAH is a design that reminds me of the days when our grandparents would wear tinfoil hats on their heads in order to survive the telepathic mind controlling powers of little green men from Mars.

The Buck Rogers helmet, complete with ultra “sci-fi” spaceship on top, really made me laugh.
This design is so awesomely retro its crazy.

Greenpeace competition

Greenpeace competition

Hi there all you eco-warriors!

I’d like to take this opportunity to mention a Greenpeace competition that I feel really deserves all of our attentions. The basic idea is to rebrand the BP logo. Yes the company responsible for the atrocious oil spill we are seeing all over the media.
Here is a quick rundown about the spill and the Greenpeace competition itself.

The world has been hit with so many human atrocities in regards to pollution that it’s honestly hard to keep up these days. In recent weeks the story of stories has been about the “epic fail” of the immense oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico by a BP rig.
The Deepwater Horizon spill has been seen as the worst man-influenced ecological disaster ever, or at least the biggest off-shore spill in US history.
Now that I serious stuff boys and girls!

The worst thing about the Deepwater Horizon spill is that very little has been done by the US government to contain the spill. Although actions have recently been taken by getting robots to cut holes in the pipe in order to install a cap, this was all done way, way, waaaaay too late to make a difference. The amount of oil that has spewed forth has made a terrible mess for the environment and has killed hundreds of birds and turtles. This only the beginning of what could be a ripple effect that will last throughout our lifetime and even our children’s childrens life times.
